As a senior at Hiram, each student must complete a project for their major. For my project, it had to look at Computer Science through the lense of Art and Design. I created a digital design which I then painted on a 4'8"x6'7" canvas to be hung in the computer science lab at Hiram. The concept was to create a piece that would attract new students to the department by showing them the fields they could work in after obtaining their degree. The foregrounds were designed by me, with the backgrounds designed using a random art website. To the left is the design. From the center spiralling to the right outwards, the fields depicted are: Programming, IT Administration, Game Development, App Design, Hardware Development, Website Design, Robotics, and Animation/3D Modeling.
To the left are the background designs. These are generated using an mathematical algorithm which creates an expression tree based off the random numbers generated by the given title.
This tree holds information such as color, placement, rotation, etc. The first half of the title determines the color pallete and focal points and the last half determines the layout and selection of the graphical elements.
